Where: Just inside the Academic Building

[In a wide open hall with banners and a various sundry of celebratory items, the headmaster's rousing speech begins to come to a close.]

In short, you all are here to save our world! There is a threat out there that we must face, but we cannot face it alone. [His demeanor is pleasant, but thinly veiled. His stress is evident in his words, but he is attempting to stay cheerful.] We must do our best to watch over our friends and family and neighbors, no matter who they may be.

We are all responsible for one another. [He lets the silence hang for a moment before letting off and overly cheerful--] HaHa! [Was that a bit forced? Or was it just me?]

Well, guys, it’s time for me t’go, got lotsa stuff to take care of bein’ headmaster and all. But please, get to know one another, go check out classes, and find out where you live on campus! [He gestures to various sections of the room, all labeled with bright colored papers and text.]

I’ll see y’around!

[And with that, the headmaster is off! No, seriously. Watch him go, he’s movin’ fast for such a short guy.]

[Frowning a little, he reaches for her, his hand gentle on her shoulder.]

Only you look like you're gonna panic an' bolt soon.

[ He's right---it looks like there's a big ball of energy that wants out. With her rocking back and forth and swaying? His hand stops her, but she's rather---surprised. How do you react to that from a total stranger? She stands stock still. Totally handled. ]

Just got to...uh. Get used to all the people, is all!

Jack, Jack Kelly. I'm from New York. Just got here, actually.

[ And she resumes rocking. Oh boy. ]

[ Manners! She sticks her hand out rather sharply. ]

I'm Rapunzel. It's nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you too. Uh, it's in America. Do you wanna explore? I, uh, can't seem to find me room.

Sure! We can look for it. Where's that? That's not anywhere near Buena Vista, is it? I don't think I've heard of it.

Then again, I didn't think there were any other big kingdoms other than where I'm from.

[Look he could have spat in his hand and shaken your hand, okay, be happy he didn't.]

Uh . . . no. It's in-- I mean-- are you in Europe? They got kings an' stuff over there. And no, it's Joe . . . something. Joe West?

[ OH NO SHE IS. She's just trying to get the hang of things. ]

No? I don't think so. I haven't found a book with a map big enough. But when I do, I'll show you. But we have a king where I was, and a queen. And a princess, too, but she disappeared. That's what I was told.

[ She nods. ]

Joe West---that's where mine is too! We can find both of our rooms. What number is it?
